Alliance2015
is a partnership of 6 like-minded non-government organisations
working in the field of development co-operation. The Alliance members
are: Cesvi from Italy, Concern from Ireland,
Deutsche Welthungerhilfe from Germany, Hivos from the Netherlands,
IBIS from Denmark and, since November 2003, People
in Need from the Czech Republic. Since
its founding in 2000, Alliance2015 has worked to
consolidate this partnership by developing new ways of working together
which reflect the range of talent and experience in our ranks. The
goal is to respect and benefit from the diversity of member organisations.
The Alliance focuses its co-operation on addressing
the Millennium Development Goals, in particular HIV and
AIDS, recognised as one of the main drivers of poverty
and injustice in Southern Africa.- visit the website

IBIS began as a solidarity movement in Europe and its
early operations in Africa were linked to the anti-colonial and
anti-apartheid movements in Southern Africa. Today IBIS still operates in Angola, Namibia, South Africa and Mozambique
as well as in Ghana. Together the five countries comprise IBIS´ African operations. IBIS believes that all people have the right to influence their own life
and society, and the organisation supports popular organisations
in their work to safeguard these rights and promotes democratic
conditions in local communities. IBIS believes
that the HIV and AIDS pandemic, in particular in
southern Africa, impacts on all spheres of life. To IBIS,
PLWHA are best placed to prevent the further spread of HIV. But meaningful involvement of PLWHA is often hampered by stigma, discrimination and a perception that
PLWHA are helpless victims. IBIS wants to promote the leadership
role of PLWHA and their transformation from ‘victims
to victors’.

The
Legal Assistance Centre, being a public interest law centre,
strives to make the law accessible to those with the least access,
through education, law reform, research, litigation, legal advice,
representation and lobbying, with the ultimate aim of creating and
maintaining a human rights culture in Namibia. It works in five
broad areas: litigation, information and advice, education and training,
research, law reform and advocacy. It is the only organisation of
its kind in Namibia. It has a head office in Windhoek, Namibia's
capital, and two regional advice offices in Keetmanshoop and Ongwediva
respectively. Through the Legal Assistance Centre’s AIDS Law
Unit, the LAC strives to promote a human rights-based
response to the HIV and AIDS pandemic. To that
end, the LAC focuses on the protection and promotion
of internationally recognised human rights by taking cases to court,
assisting with drafting policies, human rights information dissemination,
education, research and advocacy -

Positive Vibes is an innovative
HIV and AIDS communication initiative based in
Namibia. We believe that those of us living with
HIV are best placed to prevent the virus’
further spread, which is why we strive to create a space for those
living with and affected by HIV – you, me,
our loved ones, friends and colleagues - to address the epidemic
at an individual, family and community level.
Positive
Vibes has been adapting, piloting and implementing innovative,
participatory and PLWHA-led approaches to HIV
and AIDS communication for the past five years. These approaches:
• Build confidence and self-esteem
so that we can come to terms with HIV and get on with our lives.
• Develop our knowledge and skills to deal with HIV
and AIDS in both practical and emotional ways.
• Give voice to the experiences of those of us at the sharp
end of the AIDS epidemic, with a view to shaping
decision-making at all levels of society.
When
combined, these approaches form a process that can change the way
we view HIV and AIDS. Many of the Positive Vibes
facilitators are living with HIV.

Breadline Africa is an internationally registered charity that seeks out partnerships of hope and growth in Africa. It seeks to connect people who are struggling to achieve the most basic living conditions with others who are more fortunate and in a position to make a difference. Breadline Africa supports ground level African charities that are trying to help the communities around them realise their full potential. It's about offering a helping hand to the people who are dedicating their lives to smaller charitable organisations that uplift communities and help them to become self-sustainable.
